University of Melbourne, 13 storey academic building with 2 level podium structure. The façade was a highly articulated envelope that included composite aluminium projecting stick elements which cantilevered in some cases 2 metres from face of façade. The stick cladding was incorporated into the unitised curtain wall without resorting to a separate cladding syste m and hence, avoiding a break in the water proofing of the façade. The façade incorporated high performance glazing to assist in achieving the 5 Star green star rating. The curtain wall has a unique floor to floor daylight opening with no spandrels included. The podium incorporates various glass wall patch fitting systems, shop fronts and complex glass wall display boxed for showing art work.
Project Role: Full consultancy services including concept design, design development, tender documentations, contract administration and construction services. It also included inspections of factory facilities in China, witnessing and review of test mock-ups and mad site inspections.
